Manchester United close to tying-down highly rated 17-year-old on a long term deal
One of Carrington's most highly regarded youngsters, Bendito Mantato looks set to commit his long-term future to Manchester United as he nears first-team involvement under Ruben Amorim.
Bendito Mantato is set to sign his first professional contract next week, with Manchester United keen to tie him down to a long-term contract.
The 17-year-old is held in high regard by the club, with Ruben Amorim in particular thought to be keen on handing him a first-team debut before the season's end.
Mantato's versatility has been a point of note internally, his ability to play as a wing-back on either side, or alternatively as a more direct winger makes him an attractive option for Amorim’s first-team squad.
The youngster was the subject of interest from a number of Premier League clubs last summer, with attempts made by the likes of Arsenal and Newcastle to sign him on a scholarship deal, though United were able to convince the England youth international to stay on for another two years.
Born in Manchester, Mantato joined the Red Devils at pre-academy level (under-9), and has played one or two years above his age group for the majority of his time at the club - a positive indicator associated with a high ceiling and favourable physical attributes.
